Our Ethics
At Tegan Louella Jewellery, some designs carry the essence of North Devon, while others are inspired by the distant places I’ve explored on my travels. Nature and its stories guide every piece I create.
In my Devon workshop, each design is handmade. I use a variety of techniques: some pieces are hand-forged using traditional tools, while others are shaped through ancient methods such as wax carving. The forms, textures, and patterns I create are inspired mainly by the natural world, from the shimmer of light on water to the rise and fall of waves, and the beauty found throughout nature.
From the materials I choose to the way I work in my studio, I strive to ensure a mindful process throughout every step of production. I use recycled precious metals, as well as ethically sourced stones and Fair Mined metals where possible.
I am honest in my approach and continually strive to improve the ways I work, minimising the impact of my practice on the planet, making thoughtful and responsible choices, and working with suppliers who share the same ethical standards and values. Each piece is designed to be durable and cherished for years to come, becoming an heirloom for generations. Even the packaging is chosen with care, crafted from 100% recyclable materials to honour the journey of the piece and the planet it comes from.
We are passionate about creating beautiful, meaningful jewellery, but never at the expense of our planet or the people who share it. Each piece is made with care and intention, carrying the stories of the natural world and the journeys that inspire it. When you choose one of our designs, you support a small scale artisan approach, local creativity, and a gentler, more thoughtful relationship with the planet.
